Perdeberg Wines has been honoured at the 2025 Global Chenin Blanc Masters, hosted by The Drinks Business, receiving a Master award, one Gold medal, and three Silver medals. A result that spans nearly every style in the Chenin Blanc winemaking spectrum.
As The Home of Chenin Blanc™, Perdeberg has built its reputation on a deep understanding of this signature South African varietal. This year’s results reflect that range, with recognition for fortified, natural sweet, barrel-fermented, single vineyard, and Cap Classique expressions of Chenin Blanc.
The Results
- Master – The Dry Land Collection Fortitude Fortified Chenin Blanc (NV)
- Gold – The Dry Land Collection Longevity Natural Sweet Chenin Blanc 2025
- Silver – The Dry Land Collection Courageous Barrel-Fermented Chenin Blanc 2025
- Silver – Endura Single Vineyard Chenin Blanc 2025
- Silver – The Vineyard Collection Chenin Blanc Cap Classique 2022
The standout achievement is the Master award for the Fortitude Fortified Chenin Blanc. The top honour available at the competition, awarded only to wines judged truly exceptional within their category.
“This Master award means a great deal to our team,” says Andri Le Roux, Perdeberg Winemaker. “Fortified wines take time, patience, and a real feel for how Chenin Blanc develops over the years. This result is proof that our approach in the cellar, matched with the quality of fruit from our Agter-Paarl vineyards, produces something special.”
The Longevity Natural Sweet Chenin Blanc’s Gold medal further highlights Perdeberg’s versatility with the varietal, while Silver medals for the Courageous Barrel Fermented Chenin Blanc, the Endura Single Vineyard Chenin Blanc, and The Vineyard Collection Cap Classique demonstrate consistent quality across the full Perdeberg range. From dry-farmed, unirrigated vineyards to bottle-fermented sparkling wine.
What excites me most about this set of results is how broad it is,” says a Perdeberg spokesperson. “We’re not just being recognised for one style or one wine, it’s fortified, sweet, barrel-fermented, single vineyard, and Cap Classique, all in one competition. That’s a real reflection of the depth of skill in our cellar and the quality of the vineyards we work with.
This latest haul builds on a strong run of international recognition for Perdeberg, including two Gold medals at the IWSC 2024 and a Gold medal at the 2024 Global Chenin Blanc Masters, further reinforcing the brand’s standing as one of the world’s leading producers of Chenin Blanc.
